We ask all CNEDA Members to subscribe to this code of conduct, recognising that whilst we come from different contexts and viewpoints on some issues, we come together with the goal of ending domestic abuse.

Be Kind and Courteous

We join in unity to stand against domestic abuse. We may have different views on other issues and come from different cultural backgrounds, but we choose to treat each other with respect and love, from a spirit of humility.

"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by[a] one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many." - 1 Corinthians 12: 12-14

We create a safe space

We choose to create a welcoming environment where people can tell their stories and be heard. We understand that this space is confidential and we work to ensure that we maintain that at all times, prioritising each other's safety and well-being.

"No one should seek their own good, but the good of others." - 1 Corinthians 10:24

We remember the mission

This is a community dedicated to preventing and ending domestic abuse (violence). We may have beliefs and views on other issues, but we recognise that this is not a space in which to campaign for these. We combine our strengths, skills, experience and expertise to achieve our common goal.

"TTherefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind." Philippians 2:1-2
