The 16 Days of Activism
The 16 Days of Activism is a global campaign to end Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). It runs each year from the 25th November – the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women – to the 10th of December – International Human Rights Day. During the 16 Days, organisations and individuals across the world campaign to end gender-based violence, raising awareness and calling leaders to take action.
There are loads of ways that you can join in with the 16 Days, and we’ve created a range of free resources to support you. We’d love to hear what you get up to – drop us a message to share your stories!
16 Days 2025: UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls
The theme of this year’s 16 Days is ending digital violence. Campaigns will focus on keeping women and girls safe online, highlighting issues like cyber-stalking, ‘revenge porn’, cyberbullying and other form of online harassment. In our increasingly digital world, it’s more important than ever that we talk about these things and call on our governments and tech companies to take action.
Checkout our recent blog to find out more about tech abuse, how to recognise the signs, and how we can all help keep women and girls safe.

Each year during the 16 days, members of our CNEDA network and other Restored supporters get involved with the Red Chair Project, to raise awareness of the many women and girls who have been killed through gender-based violence. It’s a simple but powerful symbol that draws attention to the reality of violence faced by women and girls across the globe.
