Changing the Story for Women
It can feel as though our lives are in limbo, that our past has robbed us of our future. If we've been subjected to abuse, it can feel like we've lost our identity, our value and even our faith. For many of us, it feels like we're caught in a story we'd never have written. At Restored, we believe that God is the great re-storier, that He has an ending in mind for your story, that you may never begin to imagine. It's more than restoration, He wants to turn the page on your story and start a fresh chapter - one of hope, light and love.
At Restored we work to help that happen. We help change the story for women caught in the cycle of abuse by supporting survivors, equipping the Church to do the same and speaking up to raise awareness of violence against women and girls.
I need help
If you think you may be in an abusive situation, there is help out there, wherever you are based. You have a right to life without abuse; you are precious and your life can be 'restoried'. Life doesn’t have to be this way. There is another, better, way. Being restored and getting free from abuse can take a long time and seeking help can be the first step in doing this. We're here to help you on the journey.
- We host a Christian community of survivors of domestic abuse through an international online network. You will receive fortnightly blogs addressing recovery issues, members stories and book reviews as well as discover opportunities to meet and recover with other women who really understand.
- Our Survivors' Handbook provides both practical and spiritual support for women experiencing domestic abuse. It delves into theological issues like suffering, divorce, and forgiveness, as well as covering the practical realities of leaving that are relevant to people of all faiths and none. It has been written with a particular emphasis for Christian women who can sometimes feel like they need to choose between their faith and their freedom because we believe it's possible to have both. We send this free to any survivor of domestic abuse or you can purchase a copy in our shop.

I want to help
At Restored, we passionately advocate for relationships of mutual respect and love, modelling the reconciling love shown by Christ to all people. We know that relationships don’t always look like this. Control and abuse are, sadly, prevalent in our communities and our churches, with one in four churchgoers experiencing abuse in an intimate relationship. We're changing the story for women where relationships are broken and traumatic. But we can't do this without you.
If you'd like to help, whether that's through giving your time, your money or by joining our weekly prayer meetings, we'd love to hear from you.
We'd love to hear from you
